MMA Tracker 1.1

Posted by lorenb on Oct 7, 2008 in business, iphone

I updated MMA Tracker at iTunes Connect today. The new version (1.1) adds a new icon and adds more polish to the interface. Also fixes a stupid refresh bug I somehow missed. It will be a free update to anyone who bought 1.0.

So once again I’m “in review”, we’ll see how long updates take to get approved. Should be quicker than the initial application submission. I hope anyway.

App Store contract is now active

Posted by lorenb on Oct 6, 2008 in business, iphone

Finally, I just got the mail from Apple telling me that my contracts are active and in effect. My MMA Tracker app will appear in iTunes within the next 4-12 hours. Glad this is finally done.

iPhone SDK Development

Posted by lorenb on Oct 3, 2008 in business, iphone

I heard about a new book called iPhone SDK Development. I picked up an eletronic copy (PDF) for $24 and so far it’s been pretty good. Some of the stuff I already figured out on my own but there have been little tips about working with XCode that I’ve found very helpful.

iPhone and Android

Posted by lorenb on Oct 1, 2008 in business, iphone, linux

I see that Apple has finally dropped their NDA on the iPhone. That should help out as people can finally write books and trade programming tips.

I also was playing with the Android SDK. Eclipse has gotten better since I used it last. The git plugin is good, wish XCode supported git too. I found that Google’s Android emulator was slower than Apple’s. It’s not a huge problem but over time with complie/test/debug add up. I need to read more on the API docs and see what is possible and how things work.

Still pending contact

Posted by lorenb on Sep 29, 2008 in business, iphone

No updates from Apple yet on my contract status. Still unable to get MMA tracker into iTunes. Not sure if the problem is workload at Apple or if they are waiting for US/Canadian governments to do something.

This is very frustrating and annoying. There seems to be no way to even get an update on what is going on. I think this is a way more serious issue for Apple than idiots crying about not being able to publish their farting and “are you cool?” apps.

If Apple can’t get this resolved by Oct 15th, I’m thinking of just walking away. I’m getting tired of Apple always keeping me in limbo. I don’t need this kind of aggravation.

Anyway, rather than waste more time on a 2nd app, I’m going to download the Android SDK and see how that is.

Ready for sale

Posted by lorenb on Sep 18, 2008 in business, iphone

Apple let me know that MMA Tracker was approved and ready for sale. It was looking good until I found out it’s still not on iTunes pending contracts. I’ve given them all the necessary information and mailed some documents to their office in Austin, TX.

I probably should have used FedEx instead of Canada Post. Oh well live and learn.

Hopefully they get there soon and Apple acknowledges them so I can get this app into iTunes.

In Review

Posted by lorenb on Sep 13, 2008 in business, iphone

MMA Tracker has been in review for just under a week now. I got a note from Apple yesterday saying it was rejected because they found a crashing bug I had missed. I fixed it and re-uploaded a new binary. Hopefully this doesn’t take too much longer.
