FYI I dont think that the SG33G5 supports sound over HDMI.
I am running Windows XP SP3 and working on getting linux on this system. In XP their are no obvious ways to enable sound via HDMI it appears to be video only
This is the main reason I might switch to a video card instead of using the Intel video. Its a shame so close to perfection.

Does anyone know of step by step process that I can follow to get Linux up and running I have always avoided getting into the guts of linux and now Im kicking myself. I know shame on me

I get sound from my PC speakers but that is plugging the speakers into the sound port

I haven’t tried to use on say a TV via HDMI or anything like that. Not sure why sound wouldn’t work in that case.

what about sound config with hdmi. I can’t get that to work? I get a great pict with hdmi, but no sound?
does yours work?

I have an HDMI-DVI adapter that I use to connect my monitor and it works fine.

I’m just using the cooler that came with the Shuttle box. I don’t know the exact noise level, but it’s very quiet. The only time I notice is during a lot of HD activity or using the CD/DVD.

Which processor cooler are you using?
What’s the noice level produced by your system?

I am considering bying these too:
- Shuttle SG33G5
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
