Working on cleaning up more of the OVAL interpreter code today. It’s starting to get less hairy. Noticed I forgot to implement a uname_test for the RedHat tests.
Took some time yesterday to setup various VMware sessions so I can test the interpreter on different platforms more effectively.
That’s all for now. The work continues…

Found the source of my hard drive problems with BadCRC errors. It was a dumb mistake on my part where I had plugged in both the legacy and SATA power connectors into the drive. I don’t know what I was thinking there.
Fortunately it didn’t do any damage and once I removed the legacy connector things returned to normal. It’s been a couple of days now and I’ve had no CRC errors.
I did end up getting another hard drive though, a 200 GB Maxtor (w/ 16 MB of cache; 7200 RPM) which I’m using for different VMware sessions. The install of that was pretty painless.
