Open Source

Took a small break from Sussen to see what’s been happening with my other project, Fewnn. It’s been downloaded a couple hundred times (all versions).

The thing is, of those people, I’ve only heard from one person (He thanked me for the software). But what about the other 200 or so people? Did the software work for them? Did they run into problems and just give up?

Even with Sussen, I’ve had over 2,500 downloads of the old C code. Barely heard from any of them either.

It’s kind of discouraging. Without input/feedback doing Open Source development is kind of a waste of time. At this point, the only benefit I derive is being able to use other OSS code.

Perhaps everyone is just waiting for fully functional 1.0 releases of my projects. Bastards :)
